Play Money Community Guidelines
Welcome to our angel investing community! To keep this space productive and fun for everyone, we have three rules:
ENGAGE
Don’t be shy. There are no stupid questions. (ok, sometimes there are, but ask anyway. Someone else is probably wondering too).
Share your "aha" moments and expertise. Tell us why you invested. Your insight could spark others too invest too.
Be honest about your experiences and investments.
DON’T BE A DOOF
Be cool, not cruel. Respect others. No bullying or harassment. And no over-the-top self-promotion.
Keep it clean. No NSFW content. We're here for investments, not "investments." 😉
AI helped me write this, and I literally have no idea what “investments” means, but it was funny.Respect everyone's journey. No comparing or judging others' choices.
Play nice outside our sandbox. Stay professional everywhere.
BE A GREAT ANGEL
Play Money is the only place where SPVs aren’t black boxes. Most deals are enabled for private sharing. After you invest we share your contact info with the founder and encourage them to add you to their stakeholder updates. No one else is doing this.
With great privilege comes great responsibility…don’t mess it up.
When allowed, share deals privately with your Angel friends. More investors = more founder support!
Even though you will be excited to share your investment publicly on social media, don’t do it until we give you the thumbs up. It takes fund-raising control away from the founder and could put them on the ugly side of securities laws. When in doubt, ask.
Be the Angel founders dream of.
Cheer them on. Offer help when asked.
Never pester or berate or suck their time (or do intros w/out a double-opt-in).
Startups don’t all succeed. If one of your investments fails, remember it’s a much bigger loss to the founding team.
An extra dose of humanity from an Angel makes all the difference some days. <= we are speaking from experience.
Breaking these guidelines may result in removal from the community and investment restrictions. Founders are allowed to remove you from updates if needed - and we will find out.
