{{First}} -- We are wrapping up our 4-week beta, 3 weeks late, to keep 2 deals open for new angel groups who want in. π€
Play Money is the deal flow and engagement platform transforming communities into the most clutch investors on the cap table and enabling members to build their dream startup portfolios without making Angel a full-time hobby or rolling up with a truck full of money.
Top learnings for Q1 launch
Getting folks over the investing hump while remaining low touch for founders was job #1: Our snack-sized videos were ππ½ but not quite enough. Beta users told us what was missing and we implemented async Q&A for a win.
Our brand set a higher bar than we thought: Folks not only expected unexpected delight, they were disappointed when they didn't get it. Challenge accepted. π
Edge-cases aren't always so edge: Our beta users ran into all the "edge" investing cases; it stung not to be able to let them invest. We've added to our roadmap (and resources) for Q1 so we don't have to feel that again.
βHeck yeah [I'll be back when you launch]. And I'll bring my friends too.β

What we're still wrestling with...
Folks are hungry for community, but we deeply believe smaller self-identifying communities are better for Angel and, as importantly, we do not want to be community builders (I've been told I am more of a cult leader π³). How can we "minimal valuable" close this gap?
Our product has a strong POV. Folks are looking for an OK to act We need a scalable content strategy to close that gap. Who can help us tighten and test content to do this?
Tops down with non-angel communities is a vitamin not a painkiller, aka not the place to start: Existing angel groups and emerging VCs are leaning in as anticipated, but we also need to figure out how to bottoms-up smaller groups within larger communities. What products have done this well?
How to help
ISO a part-time social media / content sidekick: Someone who understands video and can augment our "been here for a minute" with more modern social media vibes.
Get us your groups: If you are part of an existing angel group or an angel-curious community, we'd love to chat and offer up a Cap Tables & Cocktail Angel 101 session.
Team appreciation
Beta was the perfect team stress test forcing us to uplevel our process and comms (and reduce our sleep) in real-time. The team crushed with commitment, creativity, and code. ππ½ Ilia, Vitali, and Tanya.
