About Elizabeth McCluskey's Resilience Month on Play Money

Elizabeth is a purpose-driven venture capitalist, angel investor, and LP. For the last decade, she has focused on early-stage tech companies, deploying over $50M of institutional capital across 60+ companies and 3 funds. Today, she leads the TruStage Ventures Discovery Fund, which invests in seed stage fintech companies led by underrepresented founders. She's been recognized as an Inspiring Fintech Female by NYC Fintech Women and named to the Standout 45 and Women in Fintech Powerlist by Innovate Finance.

As an angel investor and startup advisor, Elizabeth is focused on supporting founders in the early stages of their company-building and fundraising journeys. She's particularly dedicated to elevating women-led, mission-driven companies. She mentors entrepreneurs through John Hopkins University's Ward Infinity accelerator and the University of Michigan's Zell Lurie Entrepreneurship Institute. She’s also an active member of numerous angel groups and networks for women in VC.

Previously, she helped launch the first venture fund from leading impact investment firm Impact Engine. At Impact Engine, she invested in seed/Series A stage companies building in economic opportunity, environmental sustainability, and health equity.
